Little Needles is dedicated to introducing children to the art of sewing.  Through our gentle introduction, children very quickly pick up skills and confidence and in no time are surprising themselves at how much they can achieve.  By the end of the year they will be competent in the use of a sewing machine and able to carry out most simple sewing tasks by themselves.  Classes are kept small so the children get the maximum of individual attention and there is a constantly varied selection of original projects to suit all abilities.  It’s a practical skill which children will be able to use for the rest of their lives, and – most important of all – it’s fun!!

In 2008 I was looking for a sewing class for my daughter, then aged 8.   It's such a simple and enjoyable pastime that I couldn't believe noone was running classes for children locally.  As a result I got some classes going, and things have taken off from there.  I take all the classes myself and am fully CRB-checked.

Many of you have requested classes for yourselves too, so since 2009 we have extended our classes to adult beginners.  We know that many of you are far too busy to commit to a long course and just want something to get you off the starting blocks.  We offer the same hands-on, clear and simple instruction in small groups in our Get to Know Your Sewing Machine classes.  These classes have been great fun and very popular and we look forward to many more!
